John GardhamJohn GardhamBorn in Toronto, John Gardham began his musical career as a boy soprano and became interested in the organ at a young age. He studied voice and theories at the Royal Conservatory of Music. Organ teachers include Dr. Melville Cook and Gerald Webster. John has sung with Tafelmusik and the Exultate Chamber Singers under the direction of John Tuttle. He was director of music at St. Stephen’s from 1980 to 1996 and recently returned to the position. As a trained pipe organ technician John spends many hours keeping the 1888 Ryder organ at St. Stephen’s in playing condition.
